Oklahoma scene: No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Baptist continues to roll
Kameron Price scores 17 points as the Bisons improve to 11-1. OBU women win, too.
Top-ranked Oklahoma Baptist had 17 points from Kameron Price on Friday night, and the Bison rolled to a 71-43 NAIA men's basketball victory over Central Baptist in Shawnee. OBU (11-1) used 21-5 and 12-0 runs to blow away Central, which had 17 points from Spencer Caraway. ... The Oklahoma Baptist women improved to 7-1 with a 87-53 rout of Central Baptist. Janell Beacham had 25 points, and Charity Fowler added 22. Beacham and Fowler combined for 10 3-pointers.
*Taylor Lewis scored 12 of 16 points off 3-pointers to help Northeastern State whip Arkansas-Fort Smith, 67-47. ... Kourtni Williams had 16 points and nine rebounds as Mid-America Christian trimmed Haskell Indian Nations (Kan.) 62-56 in Oklahoma City. ...
OBU ADDS QUARTERBACK
Oklahoma Baptist University announced quarterback Cody Miller will transfer to the Shawnee school from East Central. Miller, a Lawton product, played in four games this season. He threw for 458 yards and two touchdowns. Miller was one of four quarterbacks who played for the Tigers this season before freshman Spencer Bond nailed down the starting job. Miller will major in sports ministry at OBU, which will play its first football season in more than 70 years in 2013.
