*Dylan Puckett of Jones was named to the United States team for the Olympic Hopes Regatta in Hungary on Sept. 14-16. Puckett made the squad based on his performance last weekend at the 2012 USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint National Championships in Seattle.

Puckett took first in the 1,000-meter race for ages 15 and younger. The Olympic Hopes Regatta will feature the top kayakers ages 16 and younger from around the world.

OKC RIVERSPORT coach Alison Derrick will serve as an assistant coach for the USA team.

STARS RANKED NO. 1

Defending NAIA champion Oklahoma City University was ranked No. 1 on Wednesday when Golf World released its men's preseason poll. The Stars, who have won eight national championships in program history, were the unanimous favorite. All-Americans James Marchesani and Michael Palmer return from last season's team, which overcame a four-shot deficit to beat Sooner Athletic Conference rival Oklahoma Christian for the national title.
