Oklahoma scene: Oklahoma State wrestlers to face Iowa on Sunday

The No. 2 Oklahoma State wrestling team (7-0) will take on No. 4 Iowa (13-0) at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.

The two teams have combined for 57 national championships. OSU leads the series 26-18-2.

Oklahoma State will send out eight wrestlers ranked in at least one major national poll, and the Hawkeyes will send out nine. There will be six matchups of ranked wrestlers, at 133, 149, 157, 165, 184 and 285 pounds.

Former Oklahoma State wrestler and Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Famer Randy “The Natural” Couture will be on hand to sign autographs in the east lobby of Gallagher-Iba Arena before the dual.

OSU to host U.S. team trials

Oklahoma State will host the 2013 U.S. World Team Trials for all three Olympic wrestling styles, along with the FILA Junior World Trials, at Gallagher-Iba Arena on June 21-23.

Among the competitors are several current and former Oklahoma State wrestlers, including Obe Blanc and current Cowboy Jordan Oliver.
