Oklahoma scene: OSU recovers from loss to OU, whips Rice

Kristen Kelley scored two goals Sunday to help Oklahoma State whip Rice 4-0 at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. A few days after No. 3-ranked OSU suffered a one-goal loss at Oklahoma, the Cowgirls improved to 7-1-0 after scoring four times in the second half against Rice. All-America goalkeeper AD Franch notched a 35th career shutout.

*Oklahoma failed to maintain the momentum of beating OSU, losing 1-0 Sunday to Oral Roberts at John Crain Field in Norman. Megan Giles scored ORU's goal with 23 minutes left in the match. The Golden Eagles improved to 3-3-1, while the Sooners fell to 4-3-1.

*Brittni Walker had four goals and an assist Sunday as No. 15-ranked Central Oklahoma thumped Newman (Kan.) 7-1 at Tom Thompson Field in Edmond. Walker scored all four goals in the first half to help the Bronchos improve to 4-0-0.

LANGSTON BLANKS BACONE

Langston's defense was stellar Saturday in its 19-0 NAIA football victory over Bacone before 3,210 fans at W.E. Anderson Stadium. Langston (1-1) held Bacone (1-2) to just 94 total yards. Malik James had an interception, and Ronald Burgess added four tackles, including two sacks.
