Oklahoma scored three unanswered goals Sunday to beat Northern Arizona 3-1 in the final game at the Rebel Classic soccer meet in Las Vegas. Zoe Dickson, Renae Cuellar and Amy Petrikin scored for the Sooners, who improved to 3-2-1 for the season. OU returns to John Crain Field in Norman for a 7 p.m. Friday game against No. 5-ranked Oklahoma State.
OU LOSES TO NO. 24-RANKED TEAM
No. 24-ranked Colorado State won the final two sets Sunday and beat Oklahoma 3-1 in volleyball at Fort Collins. Dana Cranston (19 kills) and Megan Plourde (11 blocks) led Colorado State, which was the first rated opponent to play the Sooners this season. Maria Fernanda had 14 digs for OU, giving her 1,769 during a stellar career. She ranks sixth all-time in Big 12 history. OU (5-2) continues an eight-match road trip at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Sprint car racing season continued to wind down over the weekend, with several Oklahoma-based drivers enjoying success.
*Jamie Passmore of Rose padded his standings lead on the Oil Capital Racing Series, winning the A feature late Saturday at Caney Valley Speedway in Kansas. Passmore, who has won 11 features this summer, increased his standings advantage to 170 points over Danny Smith of Tulsa.
*Danny Jennings of Norman notched his third feature victory of the season on the National Championship Racing Association circuit. Jennings took the lead on the third lap Saturday night and coasted the rest of the way at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. The five-time State Fair Speedway champ maintained the lead despite two cautions during the $2,000-to-win race. Jake Martens of Fairview, Adam Gullion of Lincolin, Neb., C.J. Johnson of Quinter, Kan., and Mike Peters of Wichita rounded out the top-five finishers.
*Oklahoma City native Wayne Johnson finished fourth in an American Sprint Car Series national tour race at Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas. Jeff Swindell of Germantown, Tenn., won the feature, but Johnson still gained points on national standings leader Jason Johnson of Eunice, La. Jason Johnson finished fifth in a feature race that included Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow (ninth), Joe Wood Jr. of Oklahoma City (20th) and Zach Chappell of Talala (21st).
