BERRY BACK IN LEAD
Jockey Cliff Berry posted three victories Saturday at Remington Park during races in conjunction with the Breeders' Cup World Championship simulcast events, jumping back to the top of the local rider standings.
Berry won the opening three races; Land Run won the opener, followed by Uno Ducksy and then Cat Vanblu.
Berry now has 47 wins on the season. He is seeking his 15th Pat Steinberg Award.
OU WINS SILVER IN ROWING
The Oklahoma rowing ream won a silver medal and finished in the top 10 five times on Saturday in the first day of the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In the Women's Championship Eight event, the Sooners' varsity eight finished second, earning silver with a time of 16:25.6.
The Head of the Hooch continues Sunday with one race for OU.
OCU RUNNERS MAKE NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Oklahoma City University cross country runners Arya Bahreini and Katrina Nolan both finished in the top 10 in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday to clinch spots in the NAIA Championships.
Nolan, a freshman, finished third with a time of 18:10.0 in the women's 5K.
Bahreini, a freshman from Edmond, finished eighth in the men's 8K with a time of 25:17.
