An Oklahoma angler won a berth in the 2013 Bassmaster Classic on Saturday as Jason Christie of Park Hill captured the Bass Pro Shops Northern Open on Michigan's Lake St. Clair.

Christie weighed in 67 pounds and 4 ounces to win the three-day tournament and earn the automatic entry in next year's Bassmaster Classic, which will be held on Oklahoma's Grand Lake.

Christie will be considered one of the favorites to the win the Bassmaster Classic because of his familiarity with the northeastern Oklahoma lake.

“No. 1, you dream about fishing any Classic,” Christie said. “But to get to fish a Classic on your home lake is a dream come true.”
