RedHawks to introduce DeFrancesco

New RedHawks manager Tony DeFrancesco will hold an introductory press conference Tuesday morning at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.

DeFrancesco will be joined by Astros owner Drayton McLane, general manager Ed Wade and director of player development Fred Nelson.

The RedHawks, after a 28-year affiliation with Texas, begin a two-year player development contract with Houston in 2011.

DeFrancesco was announced as the RedHawks manager last week after spending seven of the last eight seasons managing Sacramento.

McLane announced last week that he would explore selling the Astros, a team he's owned since 1993.

BRICKTOWN BRAWLERS UNVEIL LOGO

The Bricktown Brawlers of the Indoor Football League have released the team's logo.

The Brawlers open their season on the road against the West Texas Roughnecks on February 21. The team's home opener will be on March 6 against the Allen Wranglers.

OU VOLLEYBALL CLOSES OUT REGULAR SEASON

The OU volleyball team faces Kansas to close out the regular season at 3 p.m. Saturday in McCasland Field House. The Sooners will honor their 2010 senior class after the match.

OU (21-9, 13-6 Big 12) can secure third place in the Big 12 with a win and an Iowa State loss at Texas. The lowest Oklahoma can finish is fourth.
