Oklahoma's pitching tandem of Keilani Ricketts and Michelle Gascoigne is becoming as lethal as the Sooners' batting order. Ricketts and Gascoigne each threw complete-game shutouts Thursday as No. 1-ranked OU whipped No. 16 Georgia and No. 19 Arizona by 5-0 scores during the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.

Ricketts surrendered one hit and one walk while striking out 10 against Georgia. Gascoigne gave up three hits and two walks, but she struck out 12 against Arizona.

The Sooners improved to 12-0. No OU player homered in the opener against Georgia (7-3), but the Sooners' Ricketts, Jessica Shults and Jessica Vest went deep in the rout of Arizona (8-3).

Oklahoma is 6-0 this season against ranked teams, outscoring those squads 41-0.

COWGIRLS SPLIT PAIR

Tarah Ettinger had two hits, including a solo home run, helping Oklahoma State trim Brigham Young 3-2 on Thursday in the Cathedral City Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. Earlier in the day, the Cowgirls managed just four hits in a 2-0 loss to unbeaten Florida. Oklahoma State (6-5) plays one game Friday, a 10:30 p.m. (Oklahoma time) game against Stanford.
