Norman's Cervi to play in Scotish Premier League
Norman's
Dominic Cervi will become the fourth American in the
Scottish Premier League after agreeing to join
Celtic.
The 22-year-old, who played at Norman North and in college at
Tulsa, had been without a team after spurning interest from
Major League Soccer's
Chicago Fire. Cervi will not play with the first team for now.
Celtic manager
Gordon Strachan said Friday the team's goalkeeping coach expects Cervi to be a two-year project. "So don't expect anything,” Strachan said. "If it is quicker than that, then great.”
Cervi's parents are Italian, meaning he should be able to play in
Europe without needing a work permit.
