Oklahoma scene: OSU wrestling roundup set

The Oklahoma State wrestling program will have its Cowboys Roundup at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The public is invited free of admission charge. Food will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can meet the wrestlers and coach John Smith.

15 OKLAHOMANS REPRESENTED
So far, Oklahoma has 15 entries for the 22{+n}{+d} annual O’Reilly Short Track Nationals sprint car races, scheduled Oct. 29-31 in Little Rock, Ark. The three-day American Sprint Car Series-sanctioned event, worth $15,000 to the A feature winner on Oct. 31, has a record 112 entries overall. Drivers can continue to register until the first race night.
Some of the Oklahoma entries include 2009 ASCS Sooner Region champion Joe Wood Jr. of Oklahoma City, Wayne Johnson of Oklahoma City and Danny Wood of Norman. Johnson is a previous Short Track Nationals champ.

Fish and Chips today and Saturday
Riverwind Casino’s "Fish and Chips” bass fishing and poker tournament begins today on Arbuckle Lake. The invitation-only event has brought some of the best pro bass anglers in the world to Oklahoma, including former Bassmaster Classic champions Kevin VanDam, Skeet Reese and Rick Clunn.
The pros paid a $1,500 entry fee and will be fishing with partners in the two-man team tournament on Arbuckle Lake today and Saturday. The top prize is $20,000.
Weigh-ins today and Saturday are on an outside stage at Riverwind Casino in Norman.
A hunting and fishing show also is open in the casino each day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
