Tip time for OU home opener set
Tipoff for Oklahoma’s men’s basketball opener against Mount St. Mary’s will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 14.

All-College tickets on sale today
Tickets for the 2009 All-College Basketball Classic will go on sale at 10 a.m. today. The All-College is Dec. 21 at the Ford Center and will feature Oklahoma vs. UTEP at 5:30 p.m., followed by Oklahoma State vs. La Salle at 7:30. Both games will be televised on ESPN2 (Cox 28).
Ticket prices range from $67 to $12 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster locations, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
OSU’s Dave Smith named cross country coach of year
OSU’s Dave Smith was named the Big 12 men’s cross country coach of the year. It was the second straight year Smith has earned the award. Smith led the Cowboys to their second straight Big 12 title on Saturday, with OSU runners claiming each of the top four spots in the race.
OU wrestling will hold ranking matches Thursday
The University of Oklahoma wrestling team will hold its Red/White scrimmage at 7 p.m. Thursday at McCasland Field House. The ranking matches will pit the top two wrestlers in each weight class against each other to help determine starters for the upcoming season. UCO will hold its Bronze/Blue ranking matches alongside the Sooners. Admission is free.
Yard Dawgz holding open tryouts
The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz are holding open tryouts today at the Indoor Soccer Arena at 100 N. McCormick in Oklahoma City. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with tryouts for quarterbacks, defensive backs and receivers starting at 9 a.m. For more information, go to www.okcyarddawgz.com.
