Oklahoma Scene: OU wrestling team wins Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Classic
The No. 18 OU wrestling team squeezed past last year’s NCAA runner-up Ohio State by half a point to win its 11th straight Brockport / Oklahoma Gold Classic tournament title Saturday in Brockport, N.Y.
In the final bout of the night, Sooner Nathan Fernandez won a 7-2 decision over Ohio State ’s Corey Morrison for third place, helping OU beat the Buckeyes 144.5 to 144.
