Oklahoma Senate leader announces employee furloughs

Oklahoma Senate employees will be forced to take 12 furlough days between July and December as leaders grapple with a shrinking budget.

Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee sent a memo to employees on Wednesday notifying them of the furlough plan. Employees also will be offered a voluntary buyout, and depending on how many employees take the offer, Coffee says some employees may be laid off.
