Oklahoma Senate passes Bible class bill
A bill allowing classes on the Bible in public schools passed the Senate on Thursday.
Senate Bill 1338 by Sen. Tom Ivester, D- Elk City , passed the Senate in a vote of 38-4. The bill allows school districts to teach classes on the Bible as a historic document beginning in the 2011 school year. The courses would be taught as electives and are not required, according to the bill.
