Oklahoma Senate to study breeder licensing

Dog and cat breeders would be regulated and licensed by the state for the first time under a bill that passed the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday.

House Bill 1332 states that a person who sells, gives away or transfers more than 35 dogs or cats a year must be licensed. The bill, which passed the House 74-26, passed the Senate Appropriations Committee 14-5. It now goes on to the full Senate.
