NORMAN — Oklahoma senior center Gabe Ikard was named to the Walter Camp All-America team.
There have now been 154 first-team All-Americans in Oklahoma football history, including 34 in the Bob Stoops era.
Ikard becomes the first OU first-team All-American since receiver Ryan Broyles in 2011, and the first OU offensive lineman to achieve the honor since Trent Williams in 2009.
Vince Carter was the last OU center to become a first-team All-American in 2004.
The honor is the latest in a string of accolades for the senior from Bishop McGuinness. He won the Wuerrfel Trophy and the Selmon Spirit Award, and was named the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year.
Ikard was also a consensus first-team All-Big 12 pick. He has started 51 games in his career.
