NORMAN — Oklahoma senior safety Gabe Lynn was named the Big 12’s Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in the Sooners’ 16-7 win over West Virginia last weekend.
Lynn recorded three tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in the win, which improved Oklahoma to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play.
Both of Lynn’s turnovers came at critical moments in the game, on third-quarter drives after OU quarterback Trevor Knight had thrown interceptions.
Oklahoma State quarterback J.W. Walsh was the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, and Kansas State’s Tramaine Thompson earned the special teams honor.
