MOORE — Oklahoma Seniors Cabaret will present its fourth Spectacular Extravaganza at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, 3701 S Interstate 35 Service Road in Moore.
“We sing, dance and do comedy acts,” said Joan Colee, Oklahoma Seniors Cabaret founder.
The group of 32 seniors presents the shows to raise money for senior citizens in need.
“Our extravaganzas started in 2009, and we were able to give $3,000 worth of $100 gift certificates from Crest Markets to seniors raising their grandchildren,” Colee said. “This was just before Thanksgiving, so we had a lot of tears, joy and gratitude.”
The second year, they raised enough money to distribute $3,000 to St. Anthony's Guardian Angel program, $1,500 to Edmond Senior Center for lunches, $1,000 to Messiah Lutheran Church and $500 to the Presbyterian Urban Mission.
“Last year, it brings tears to my eyes every time I say it, we gave $12,000 to the Meals on Wheels program,” Colee said.
