NORMAN — Senior captains Gabe Ikard and Trey Millard were announced Saturday as recipients of the 2013 Don Key Award during a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
The Don Key Award is presented each year to a senior (or seniors) who demonstrate all-around excellence in the classroom and on the field. Key was a three-year starter in the early 1980s until a battle with cancer prematurely ended his college career.
Ikard, a former Bishop McGuinness standout, is a two-year captain and has started 46 of 48 career games at center and left guard.
Millard has also been a captain the last two seasons. He appeared in 48 career games before a season-ending ACL tear earlier this season.
The Columbia, Mo., native has recorded 677 career receiving yards, 538 career rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns.
