Oklahomans are becoming well-versed in actions to take before, during and after winter storms.

Among those is picking up needed food and supplies before hazardous conditions arrive.

On the other side are businesses trying to meet those needs.

“I don't know that we're any busier, but our routines are certainly different,” Terry Holden, marketing director for Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Stores, said Tuesday.

“The last couple of days we're trying to stock stores as full as we can get them in preparation.”

Holden said a store receives a delivery truck every other day, so under ideal conditions, stores have at least a two-day supply.

Because people stock up for a few days at a time with an approaching storm, Braum's tries to make sure a store has supplies for three days or more.

“You're certainly trying to equip that store to meet that demand,” he said.
