Oklahoma Sooners: Five things to watch at Bedlam

1. Keep it rolling

The Sooner offense, while dominant all season, has really hit its stride the past month, scoring 60 or more in three straight games. Now is no time for a letdown. OU must continue to execute and not become overly confident against a defense that’s hungry following a poor performance at Texas Tech.

2. Take away the run

As the Colorado game showed, running back Kendall Hunter is what makes the Cowboy offense tick. Hunter is fifth in the nation in rushing and has the ability to break the big plays. Neutralize him, and OSU’s offense becomes much easier to manage.

3. Find Dez

OU needs to bottle up what it did to Tech wideout Michael Crabtree and bring it to Stillwater, because Cowboy receiver Dez Bryant is just as dangerous. Cornerbacks Dominique Franks and Brian Jackson will find themselves in jump-ball situations with Bryant. How they handle the pressure will be telling in this game.

4. Silence the crowd

Even with the empty seats because of OSU’s Bedlam ticket policy, Boone Pickens will be rocking for this one. And while OU has nice road wins at Washington, Baylor, Kansas State and Texas A&M, Stillwater will be a whole different deal. Starting strong would be advised to help take the crowd out early.

5. Return the favor

OSU probably has the best return unit in the Big 12 with Bryant and Perrish Cox. A big OSU return could swing momentum if the Sooner coverage units don’t execute, just like in the Texas game.
