Oklahoma Sports Milestones: OKC fireman Phil Bargman completes lap around the bases
Bargman, who survived a massive heart attack, completed a “Home Run for Life” lap at a RedHawks game in Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark

*RETIRED: Oklahoma City fireman Phil Bargman completed a “Home Run for Life” lap around the bases during a recent Oklahoma City RedHawks game at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The “Home Run for Life” event celebrates people who have battled significant medical events in life. Bargman suffered a massive heart attack in July 2009 at the fire station. While en route to INTEGRIS Heart Hospital and then during surgery for a double stent implant, Bargman had to be revived a combined 23 times. Bargman has changed his diet. He exercises. Bargman said the medicine he takes “should keep me alive forever.”

*QUALIFIED: For the national finals in the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run softball competition, Kylee Sellers, a 13-year-old from Hugo. Sellers will be in the 13-14 age group during All-Star festivities next week at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Sellers advanced to the finals by winning state and regional competitions. Sellers' regional, made up of kids from Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas, was held at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas. She is in the championship after falling short in 2010 and 2011.
