UCO teams get tourney bids
Central Oklahoma received at-large bids for the NCAA Division II men’s and women’s basketball championships. The Bronchos failed to win the Lone Star Conference men’s and women’s tournaments — the men losing in the semifinals Saturday and the women losing in the title game.

The men’s team (24-5) is the Division II tournament’s No. 3 seed and will play Dallas Baptist in a first-round game Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo. The UCO women (25-5) face Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday in Canyon, Texas.

Southwestern Oklahoma State’s run through the LSC Men’s Basketball Tournament ended in Bartlesville with a 66-60 championship loss to Midwestern State. Southwestern (19-11) upset No. 1 seed UCO on Saturday night in the semis.

Oklahoma’s softball team lost for the third time in four games, falling 1-0 to Northwestern at Hall of Fame Stadium. Northwestern (12-7) scored its only run in the bottom of the sixth inning on Erin Dyer’s homer off Kirsten Allen.
