Oklahoma spring football report card: Sooners' offense inefficient in spring game

A fun day on the OU campus was tempered by offensive inefficiency Saturday in the Sooner spring game, slowing the momentum created by a 45-31 Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama.

D Inhuman receivers: The halftime act was a couple of Frisbee-catching dogs. As part of the show, the OU quarterbacks threw six Frisbees. Alas, the dogs matched the Sooners in drops, with two. Only Justice Hansen completed a toss to a dog.

B Pass coverage: The Sooner defensive backs didn’t allow a lot of open receivers, especially deep. But Hansen hit Bennett for a 19-yard touchdown pass on a flag route against the second-team defense, and Baker Mayfield hit Smallwood for a 28-yard TD on a streak route against cornerback Stanvon Taylor.
