Just before the start of the 2013 season, Oklahoma State has added another quarterback.

Richard Lagow, who signed with Connecticut this past February, told ESPN.com Wednesday evening that he intends to transfer to OSU. Lagow tweeted Tuesday that he was leaving UConn, then confirmed he was heading to Stillwater via Twitter Wednesday by responding to followers that he was already on campus.

An OSU official could not confirm Wednesday evening that Lagow would be joining the Cowboys.

Lagow, who played high school football at Plano (Texas), boasts a 6-6, 220-pound frame and was rated a three-star prospect by Rivals. He also received an offer from North Texas out of high school.

OSU currently has five other quarterbacks on its roster in senior Clint Chelf, sophomores J.W. Walsh and Daxx Garman and freshmen Quinn Shanbour and Jake Hubenak. Wes Lunt, who began the 2012 season as the Cowboys’ starter before injuries largely derailed his freshman campaign, transferred from OSU to Illinois following spring practice. Mason Rudolph, a three-star prospect from Rock Hill (S.C.) Northwestern, is currently committed to the Cowboys.

Lagow will need to sit out the 2013 season in order to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. He can also redshirt this season, giving him four years of eligibility remaining starting in 2014.
