Oklahoma State baseball: Baylor stops OSU in 12 innings

From Staff Reports Published: March 23, 2013

STILLWATER — Baylor scored two runs in the 12th inning to beat Oklahoma State's baseball team 5-3 on Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

“It's a tough loss,” said OSU coach Josh Holliday. “We were responsive throughout and kept coming back at them. Today is one of those days where you've got to give (Baylor) credit. With the game on the line and their backs against the wall, they found the courage to make pitches, pitch out of a tough situation and extend the game into extra innings where anything can happen.”

Oklahoma State (19-4) had its season-long eight-game winning streak snapped. The Cowboys and Baylor (11-12) will play the final game of the series at 1 p.m. Sunday.

In the 12th inning, Baylor drew a leadoff walk against OSU's Brendan McCurry (3-1) before an RBI double by Logan Brown plated the go-ahead run. It was the first earned run McCurry had allowed in 10 appearances this season. Baylor added an insurance run on an bases-loaded error with two outs.

Shortstop Randy McCurry had three hits to pace the OSU offense.
