Oklahoma State baseball: Cowboys rout Texas Tech

— Left-hander Tyler Nurdin turned in a solid start as the No. 19 Oklahoma State baseball team evened its series at Texas Tech with an 11-5 victory at Rip Griffin Park on Saturday night.

Nurdin held the Red Raiders to one run on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out six.

The Cowboys had 13 hits, with six going for extra bases. Gage Green was 2-for 3 with three RBIs to pace the Cowboys (33-12, 8-8 Big 12 Conference).

Tech starter Dominic Moreno struggled through 4 2/3 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts.

Texas Tech (22-25, 7-13) mounted a rally in the ninth inning, but OSU closer Brendan McCurry struck out Alec Humphreys to end the game.

The series concludes at 2 p.m. Sunday.
