STILLWATER — For all the emphasis the Oklahoma State Cowboys place on rebounding in practices, the work isn't translating to games.

Kansas State, the Big 12 Conference's best statistical rebounding team, battered the Cowboys 50-29 on the boards Saturday and turned 22 offensive rebounds into 18 second-chance points.

“We didn't follow through with the scouting report,” said freshman forward Michael Cobbins after the Cowboys' 66-58 loss to K-State. “They told us what they were going to do, get to the inside. Credit to them, they did that.

“It's just something we can't continue to let happen. We've got to get better at that and really focus in, box our man out and go get the rebound.”

And with a shortage of big men, the Cowboys need a commitment to rebounding from everyone.

“We've got to get more people in there fighting for rebounds,” said guard Brian Williams.
