On Thursday, Syracuse point guard Tyler Ennis officially declared for the NBA Draft.

Ennis, a freshman, averaged 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game this season for the Orange. He's highly regarded as one of the top point guards prospects in the nation.

So, how does that affect Marcus Smart? The Oklahoma State guard has been touted as one of the top two point guards in the upcoming draft, along with 6-foot-6 Australian Dante Exum. Ennis has been in the top point guard discussion at times, but may have hurt his stock a little after a so-so NCAA Tournament performance.

Syracuse was bounced in the second round by Dayton, a game in which Ennis was only 7-of-21 from the field and 0-of-5 from 3-point range.

As of Thursday, ESPN's Chad Ford had Smart as his No. 8 overall player in the draft, and Ennis right behind him at No. 9, saying that Ennis' struggles to finish at the rim worry scouts.

Smart is 6-4. Ennis is 6-2. Advantage: Smart. Both Smart and Ennis have questions about the consistency of their perimeter shooting, so whoever comes out of the pre-draft process with more questions answered about their jump shot may have the edge. Both should be lottery picks.
