No Joel Embiid for Kansas could be a major break for Oklahoma State in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament, provided the Cowboys make it there.

Embiid, KU's star freshman center and the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Year, will miss the entire Big 12 Tournament with a stress fracture in his back. On Monday, KU coach Bill Self was unsure of Embiid's status for the postseason, but with Embiid officially out for at least this week, it opens up things for OSU to do some damage to KU -- provided that the Cowboys can beat Texas Tech in the first round Wednesday. KU has a bye and will play the OSU-Texas Tech winner in the Big 12 Tournament second round Thursday in Kansas City.

ESPN reported that the NCAA tournament selection committee will be in contact with Kansas throughout the week regarding the injury status of Embiid.
