Oklahoma State basketball: Marcus Smart to be honored on Senior Night

When Oklahoma State faces Kansas State in the final home game of the regular season, it will be Senior Night for Markel Brown and Mason Cox. And for sophomore Marcus Smart.

When Oklahoma State faces Kansas State in the final home game of the regular season, it will be Senior Night for Markel Brown and Mason Cox.

And for sophomore Marcus Smart.

Smart, who long ago announced his intention to declare for the NBA, will be saluted along with Brown and Cox in a nod to his career.

Brown, a four-year player with the Cowboys, figured to be the headliner of Senior Night, although he hinted at something larger following Saturday night’s win over Kansas.

“It might be Marcus’ last game,” he said.

Brown didn’t stop there, giving special attention to Cox, who has become a late-season, feel-good story as a guy who has gone from scout team player on the women’s team to sudden contributor.

“I want it for him, too,” Brown said. “He helps us out a lot in practice. He’s a hard-working kid, man. We picked him up just walking around campus. He came in and gave us a lot. I really appreciate what he’s done for this program.”
