Oklahoma State basketball notebook: Injuries create some caution

As fun as Thursday night's 109-56 romp was for everyone in orange, injuries — one new and two lingering — cast some concern going forward.

Cowboys starting forward Michael Cobbins, the team's one experienced post player, left early in the first half with an injury to his left big toe and didn't return. Jéan-Paul Olukemi (knee) and Philip Jurick (Achilles) didn't play, as both continue to take it cautiously in returning from injuries suffered a year ago, although Cowboys coach Travis Ford said Jurick's absence was also because of suspension from repeated legal issues.

Cobbins is the latest blow, with Ford not sounding at all optimistic that he'll return soon.

With Brian Williams also out for the season following wrist surgery, OSU is down four players who have started in their careers.

“Eventually, they're all going to get out there and play, except for Brian,” Ford said. “But it is what it is. That's reality.
