Oklahoma State basketball: What they're saying about Marcus Smart's NBA prospects

The NBA Draft experts weight in on Oklahoma State freshman standout Marcus Smart.

“Smart is not a clean ballhandler as he turns it over a lot and while he is improving shooter, that truthfully is not his game. Smart just makes plays. His body is football strong, he has a tremendous IQ and rebounds well. Smart is an NBA point guard and though he might be better coming off the bench initially, he is a better version of (Warriors point guard) Jarrett Jack.” — Doug Gottlieb on CBSsports.com

“Unless (the Thunder) trade up or get lucky in the lottery, I don't see Smart being around for them to take. Personally, I'd like to see him go somewhere he'd have a bigger role early on and be able to have the ball in his hands more than he would with the Thunder. I want to see Smart stay at the point, and OKC is already set up pretty good there.” — HoopsWorld's Yannis Koutroupis
