SABADELL, Catalonia — Junior Markel Brown and sophomore Le'Bryan Nash each scored 18 points, and the Oklahoma State men's basketball team opened its foreign tour in strong fashion Friday with a 95-72 victory over Barcelona Select.
Four Cowboys scored in double figures, and the team had a total of eight alley-oop dunks against the team comprised of professional basketball players from several teams in the Barcelona area.
After trailing by 10 at the end of the first quarter, Oklahoma State rallied to take control.
Nash, who finished with a double-double behind 10 rebounds, was 7 of 13 from the floor. Brown was 7 of 16, including 2 of 5 from behind the arc. Cezar Guerrero added 10 points off the bench.
A bright spot for the Cowboys was the play of freshmen Marcus Smart and Kamari Murphy. Smart finished with 12 points, four rebounds and two assists. Murphy had 10 rebounds and six points.
Oklahoma State shot 51.4 percent and was 10 of 13 from the free-throw line.
The Cowboys and Barcelona have a rematch Sunday at noon.
