Oklahoma State blockers key on Josh Stewart's big punt return

Josh Stewart made a great individual effort on his 95-yard punt return for a touchdown against TCU, getting by the first potential tackler before cutting and winding and weaving his way to the end zone.

But any good return needs good blocks, and the Cowboys provided that for virtually the entire length of the field. John Goodlett, Zack Craig and Tyler Patmon were the final Cowboys who ensured Stewart went the distance, with Goodlett knocking the last Horned Frog that could have gotten to Stewart on his backside.

“Punt returning is about getting started, and if you have a talented returner that can make the first guy miss,” coach Mike Gundy said. “In most cases, that has to happen. Very seldom do you block 10 guys. But we had nine guys blocked and it was very well-executed.”
