The board that oversees the licensing and regulation of doctors took action against eight medical professionals Thursday and reinstated the license of a Perry doctor.
The Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision reinstated the license of Dr. Jonathan Ek on terms that he complete five years of probation.
Ek’s license was suspended in February when the board ruled he had sexual contact with a patient and had abused various prescription and street drugs. Ek had also provided false information on his licensure application.
On Thursday, the state licensing board also:
• Placed Dr. Eric Stark Broadway on five years of probation for fraudulently obtaining his medical license and for substance abuse violations.
• Suspended the license of Dr. Leonardo Herman Claravall for 60 days followed by five years of probation for prescribing violations.
• Reached an agreement in which Dr. Paul Edmonds agreed never to practice medicine again for using false, fraudulent or deceptive statements to investigators and not cooperatng with an investigation of Sherry’s Drug in Edmond.
• Revoked the license of Dr. Abel Lee Lau because of a felony conviction.
