OKLAHOMA CITY

City requests resident input

About 3,000 randomly selected residents will be asked to complete Oklahoma City's annual citizen survey. Residents can rate services such as police and fire protection, trash pickup, park maintenance and the quality of neighborhood streets. There are opportunities to assess the city's bus system, recreational opportunities and the zoo. The survey consists of 36 questions and officials say it should take about 25 minutes to complete. Responses will be compiled by ETC Institute, a market research firm in Olathe, Kan. The survey went out in late June and results are expected by July 30.

burn at base

Part of an apartment complex has burned at Altus Air Force Base. The fire began about noon Monday at the Apple Creek Apartments on the base. The Air Force said no one was injured but 16 apartment units were engulfed by the fire. Firefighters from the air base were able to put out the blaze. People living in the apartments were told to call the apartment office for information about their units.
