Is sentenced

A former Roff city official received a 10-year deferred sentence this week in the theft of $1,000 from city coffers, according to court records. Pontotoc County District records show Connie Hilburn, 64, waived her preliminary hearing and pleaded no contest Tuesday to embezzlement. She was ordered to pay $1,621, records show.

OKC fire is investigated

Fire crews put out a suspicious house fire Wednesday in southwest Oklahoma City. A 911 caller told operators a man walked up to the front porch of 1340 SW 81 Place, started a fire and walked away, fire Maj. Tammy McKinney said. Officials are investigating, McKinney said. No injuries were reported and everyone in the home got out safely, officials said.

Family center opens office

Infant Parent Intervention Center, a nonprofit agency founded in Oklahoma City in 2007, has opened an office at 1621-D East Highway 66 in El Reno. The agency specializes in family therapy and working with children with behavioral issues. Medicaid/SoonerCare is accepted. For more information about the center, call 262-1801.
