Black mass faces outcry
Mayor Mick Cornett’s office received more than 450 emails and calls between Wednesday and Sunday opposing the “black mass” that a satanic group plans to stage Sept. 21 at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City. Catholic Archbishop Paul Coakley criticized the event last week. Coakley said city leaders should reconsider allowing the presentation in a public building. Civic Center General Manager Jim Brown said last week that the same basic group, under different names, has leased space for similar events three times since 2010. Nobody attended the group’s the most recent “mass” Brown said.
