Current members of the Oklahoma National Guard and former members of the 45th Infantry Division were honored Tuesday at the state Capitol in front of a joint session of the Legislature.

The annual Oklahoma National Guard and 45th Infantry Division Appreciation Day is intended to pay tribute to sacrifices made by members of the 45th Infantry Division — especially those who served during World War II and the Korean War. The division was formed shortly after World War I and was initially composed of National Guard units from Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
