Oklahoma State’s first trip to West Virginia since 1928 will be a new experience for the vast majority of the Cowboys.
But there are two members of the program, cornerback Tyler Patmon and defensive line coach Joe Bob Clements, who visited Morgantown just last season.
Patmon, then playing for Kansas, tallied eight tackles (two for loss), one sack and one interception in the Jayhawks’ 59-10 loss to the Mountaineers to close the 2012 regular season. Clements, then coaching the defensive ends at Kansas State, directed a group that got standout performances from Meshak Williams (five tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble) and Adam Davis (three tackles, 1.5 sacks) in a 55-14 Wildcat win.
Cowboy coach Mike Gundy also visited West Virginia twice during his time as an assistant at Maryland.
