*Scouting report: Northeastern A&M is an old junior college football powerhouse, but this is the Golden Norse's biggest game in quite a while. Coach Dale Patterson has turned around a program that has floundered the past few years. NEO is led by running back Gerald Howse, a redshirt sophomore who has 584 yards and 10 touchdowns. He ranks second in the conference in rushing. Howse has accounted for 60 points, which also rates second in the SJCC. Quarterback Clayton Mitchem has thrown for 1,155 yards and 11 touchdowns; his favorite target is former Edmond Memorial star Kameron Doolittle, who has 297 yards and four TDs. ... Kilgore remains unbeaten, although the Rangers have won three of six games by 11 or less points. Receiver Ed'Marques Batties is the Rangers' top threat with 31 catches for 463 yards and seven TDs. ... Kilgore can clinch the league's regular-season championship with a win.
*Oklahoman's prediction: NEO 31, Kilgore 24. The Norse defense has been gracious all season — giving up an average of 329 yards per game — but the offense will provide enough support for a big victory.
