Oklahoma State: Corion Webster could provide depth for Cowboys, especially if Joseph Randle goes pro

That's a great question, and one I unfortunately won't be able to answer until about an hour from now. I wasn't at Friday's media availability because I was out of town for a trip I had planned for months. Anyway, coaches were definitely hardcore recruiting just after the regular season ended. Any coach or player is competitive and wants to end the season on a high note, though.

Who do you think will stand out in the bowl game?

I'm most curious to see the quarterbacks, obviously. Do all three play? Does the J.W. Walsh package expand? This obviously isn't a very exciting matchup, but I'm also interested to see and write about Robert Marve for Purude, just because of his wild story. And can this defense bounce back?

Any idea if local cable will be carrying the HOD Bowl for those of us without ESPNU?

Haven't heard of that yet. I'll have a story in Saturday's paper about what you need to do on each provider to upgrade and get ESPNU. For several, you can add it for one game and then cancel and it won't be more than $10 or so. Or, of course, you can find a sports bar or something to watch, though I don't know how many will be open on New Year's Day.

How are the ticket sales for the HOD bowl going?

Latest figure I just got is around 6,000. Being upset about the matchup and bowl and everything is certainly understandable. The bowl picking system is wacky and flawed and, at times, a complete joke. But it's what college football has. One of the most-anticipated nonconference basketball games being played the night before certainly doesn't help, either.
