Oklahoma State DT Calvin Barnett on Lombardi Award Watch List

Oklahoma State defensive tackle Calvin Barnett was added to his fourth watch list Monday, as he was named a contender for the Rotary Lombardi Award given to college football’s best offensive or defensive lineman (or linebacker that plays no further than five yards from the line of scrimmage).

Barnett is also on the watch lists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is awarded by the Maxwell Football Club to college football’s best defensive player, the Bronco Nagurski Award given to college football’s Defensive Player of the Year by the Football Writers Association of America and the Outland Trophy awarded to the nation’s best interior lineman.

Barnett was the Big 12′s Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2012 after recording 30 tackles (8.5 for loss), one sack, four quarterback hurries and one pass breakup in his first season as a Cowboy after transferring from Navarro Junior College.

Outland Trophy (best interior lineman): Calvin Barnett
Lombardi Award (best offensive or defensive lineman): Calvin Barnett
