Tickets to the 2012 Oklahoma State Fair go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, officials announced. This year's fair runs Sept. 13-23.
“The Oklahoma State Fair has been a place for friends and family alike to come together and make new memories since it began in 1907,” said Tim O'Toole, president and CEO of Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. “We at the State Fair strive to create an environment where you and your family can enjoy time spent with one another, and for a great value.”
Premier attractions returning this year include Disney On Ice and the PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour.
Disney On Ice Presents “Dare to Dream” features “hair-raising moments” from Walt Disney Studio's hit animated film “Tangled.” New and classic princesses will frolic in the French quarter with Tiana from “Princess and the Frog,” and the story of “Cinderella” will be retold.
Audiences will witness an aerialist act with Rapunzel's golden locks, shimmering gowns that twinkle and twirl during Cinderella's royal ball, a lighting display that illuminates all the fireflies in Tiana's New Orleans bayou and a grand finale with all the Disney princesses.
Disney On Ice Presents “Dare to Dream” will be playing 10 shows Sept. 13-18. Regular tickets range from $14 to $40. Fairgoers can save $4 on all upper level seats for opening night. Group rates for 20 or more are available for select performances. Disney On Ice ticket prices include an outside gate admission ticket when purchased by Sept. 12.
An additional gate admission ticket will be required if purchased on or after the first day of the fair. Gate admission tickets are free for children 5 and younger, $5 for children ages 6-11 and $9 for adults (12 and older).
The PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour will charge into the Oklahoma State Fair Arena with two performances.
Following the Sept. 21 performance, country music star Jake Owen will take the concert stage. Named the 2009 Academy of Country Music Top New Male Vocalist, Owen has toured as an opener for Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. His two most recent singles, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Alone With You” reached No. 1 on the country music chart.
Gary Allan will perform following the Xtreme Bulls action on Sept. 22. Throughout his country music career, Allan's seven studio albums have produced 24 charting hits.
Tickets for adults range from $20 to $25. Tickets for children ages 2-11 start at $18. Special prices for groups of 20 or more are available for all performances. Tickets include an outside gate admission ticket to the fair when purchased by Sept. 12. An additional gate admission ticket will be required if purchased on or after the first day of the fair.
