The Oklahoma State Fair is taking weather precautions as heavy rains and lightning rolled into Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon, police said.

Those at the fairgrounds were asked to go inside buildings for the duration of the storm, police Capt. Dexter Nelson said.

Carnival rides will reopen after the storm starts to slow down. The fair is not closed because of the weather, he said.
