ESPN's college football big boys are comin' to your city, Cowboys.
The “College GameDay” crew has visited Stillwater before, three times — all for Bedlam — with a fourth appearance due Saturday, when No. 11 OSU takes on No. 3 Baylor in what sets up as the nation's game of the week.
GameDay is ESPN's college football pregame show, which originates from a game site and features personalities Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard. Samantha Ponder and David Pollack are new to the lineup since the last time they were in Stillwater.
Live Stilly: The show runs from 8-11 a.m. each Saturday during the season. The set is also used on Fridays as a buildup to the game, as well as on Saturday night in postgame wrap-up shows. The site of the Stillwater show is yet to be determined. In previous visits, the setup has twice been at Boone Pickens Stadium and once on the library lawn.
Special guest? The GameDay show has become known for special guest pickers, celebrities who show up and push their team and join in the prediction portion of the show. Who might it be for OSU? Rickie Fowler? Garth Brooks? Barry Sanders? James Marsden? Boone Pickens? Stay tuned.
Corso curse? In each previous visit from GameDay, the Cowboys have lost wild Bedlam clashes. In 2004, OU won 38-35. In 2008, it was 61-41. In 2010, the Sooners won 47-41.
