Oklahoma State football: A look at the Cowboys who will participate in the NFL Combine

OSU will be represented in Indianapolis by a surefire first-rounder in cornerback Justin Gilbert and a borderline prospect in receiver Josh Stewart.

Perhaps the more interesting Oklahoma State storyline heading into the NFL Scouting Combine is which former Cowboys were not invited.

Among them: All-Big 12 defensive tackle Calvin Barnett, All-Big 12 offensive lineman Parker Graham, playmaking linebacker Shaun Lewis, big-bodied receiver Tracy Moore and mainstay defensive back Daytawion Lowe. Those prospects will need to use OSU's pro day and other workouts to impress pro scouts.

Still, OSU will be represented in Indianapolis by a surefire first-rounder in cornerback Justin Gilbert and a borderline prospect in receiver Josh Stewart.

Here's a closer look at both prospects:

JUSTIN GILBERT

Position: Cornerback

Size: 6-0, 200

Where he'll impress: Always a freak athlete with elite speed, Gilbert followed a disappointing junior season with a spectacular senior campaign that made him a Thorpe Award finalist. His seven interceptions illustrate his ability to play tight coverage, flip his hips, shift out of breaks to close in on the receiver and make plays on the ball. He's also an electric returner, which can only enhance his stock with teams looking for a special teams weapon.

Where he'll underwhelm: Gilbert does not excel in run support.
