Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said during his Sunday evening teleconference that defensive coordinator Bill Young was back at the Cowboy football offices, but that his return date for practice and team activities had not yet been determined.

Young missed the Cowboys' first two games after undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure less than two weeks ago. His recovery timetable was projected at 7-10 days, and Gundy said he remained optimistic that Young would be back on the sideline when OSU hosts Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.

“I have not talked to him,” Gundy said. “We're running behind (Sunday) because of our schedule, from getting back so late. We're all kind of playing catch-up. I've seen him in the hall a couple times.

Glenn Spencer, OSU's linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, has been handling Young's duties in his absence. The Cowboys started the season with a shutout of lowly Savannah State, but gave up 59 points and 501 yards of total offense in Saturday night's loss at Arizona.
